Built for attorneys,
by people who get it.

Legalitize was born from frustration — too many law firms buried under document chaos, missed deadlines, and software that wasn't built for how legal practice actually works. We set out to fix that.

Our Story

In 2022, Alexandra Chen walked away from her partnership at a top-10 law firm. Not because she didn't love the law — she did — but because she had spent the previous three years watching brilliant attorneys lose cases, miss filings, and burn out, all because their software was failing them.

She partnered with Marcus Rivera, who had spent a decade building data infrastructure for intelligence agencies and financial institutions. Together with Dr. Priya Nair, they assembled a team with one mission: build the operating system that modern law firms deserve.

Legalitize launched in 2023. Today, we serve over 500 law firms — from solo practitioners to regional firms with 200+ attorneys — in 40 states. Our platform manages millions of documents and has helped attorneys recover thousands of hours from administrative overhead.

Our Values

Attorney-First Design

Every feature is built around how attorneys actually work — not how software engineers imagine they work. We have practicing lawyers on our product team.

Security Without Compromise

Client confidentiality is sacred. We apply bank-grade security standards as a baseline, not a premium. SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance are non-negotiable.

AI That Assists, Not Replaces

We believe AI should augment attorney judgment, not replace it. Our AI surfaces insights, drafts documents, and flags issues — attorneys make the calls.

Radical Transparency

We publish our security practices, DPA, and compliance posture publicly. If we make a mistake, we tell you. No spin, no cover-ups.

Investors & Backers

Legalitize has raised $24M from investors who understand legal technology: former managing partners, legal operations leaders, and technology investors with deep domain expertise. We are proudly independent and focused on long-term partnership with the firms we serve.
